Corporate History

From a single retail store in Alliance, Ohio, in 1972, Terry's Tire Town is now the largest tire distributorship in the Northeastern United States. We credit a loyal and highly skilled staff for our ability to adapt to change while staying true to our motto: Success one customer at a time.

Growth at a glance:

1972: Terry Tolerton opens the first Terry's Tire Town retail store in Alliance, Ohio

1982: Terry's begins wholesale distribution

1990: First distribution center opens in Alliance, OH

1995: With the founding of a “Tire Team” marketing group, Terry's expands to include value-added dealer services in marketing, advertising and training.

1998: Company purchases Premier Bandag Retread Plant in Alliance, OH

1999: Joining forces with American Car Care Centers, the company further enhances its value-added services

2000: A second distribution center opens in Odenton, MD to serve the Baltimore and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas

2004: Ohio distribution operations move to a new state-of-the-art facility

2005: A third distribution center opens in Richmond, VA

2007: The Bandag operation expands with a new facility on the same property as the Ohio Distribution Center

2010: The company enters a partnership for future growth with Talisman Capital Partners, headed by Cardinal Health founder Bob Walter

2011: Terry's Tire Town acquires tire wholesaler Summit of New England, with warehouses in Brockton, MA; Nashua, NH and Westbrook, ME

September 2011: Announced the sale of Alliance-area retail stores to focus on core strengths in distribution and commercial retail sales

December 2011: Terry's Tire Town acquires Englewood Tire Wholesale to gain distribution centers in Happauge, NY, Lyndhurst, NJ, East Hartford, CT, West Deptford, NJ, and Middlesex, NJ.

February 2012: Moved Brockton, MA distribution center to larger, state-of-the-art facility in Taunton.
